Terror Star still unfinished?

In my first game in Beta 3Z I managed to complete the construction of a terror star but it seems that there is still work to be done on Terror Star capabilities.

The graphic changed and it now has a movement of 2 but attack is 0, defense is minimal, and sending additional constructors to it does nothing.

A quick peek in Coremodules.SBMODULES tells the tale. There are, at present, no more modules to add capability to a Terror Star.

BTW - These things are expensive. I wasn't expecting the last stage charge of 25,000 credits. :)

That part is still be touched up.

But terror stars destroy STAR SYSTEMS. You should build up their defense through other means first.

By building up the defense through other means I assume you mean installing the defensive upgrades to the Starbase.

I remember you mentioning that a Terror Star under construction would look visibly different from a Starbase so I just assumed that the additional graphics to show that were not yet in place.

One thing I hadn't noticed before is that once a Starbase becomes a Terror Star your only option is to move the thing or disband it.

Once a Terror Star becomes active it should get the buttons which allow you to place it on Senty or Guard status, at the very least, if not inherit all the options that a regular starship has visible if you select the "more info" button for the unit.

It seems to follow the Terror Star.

I havent finished my terror star. I had 18k of the 25,000 and didnt need the star, just wanted to see it. (2 turns later, the galaxy got hit with a recession! cost: 3,000 gold per turn loss in revenue!)
1 question: after the Avatar killer defense upgrade, is their a 10 point terror defense upgrade? [In the Star Wars movie Return of the Jedi, the final battle was a whole fleet of rebel battleships and they couldnt destroy 1 Terror Star.]
My suggestions for constructor upgrades for terror star:
1) Terror defense +10
2) 2nd ship repair +2
3) re-inforced hull +50 hit points

The 25,000 gold activation charge should be like any fast-build option: pay in full or pay $ over x months; agree/disagree?

I finally built one of these things! Of course if the game hadn't ended I'd still be paying off the 25,000 charge! Seeing how this is such an accomplishment, there should be more of an uproar over having built one. Nary a word from the opponents did I recieve...a warning, or at least something would have been nice. Kind of like in Civ III when you built nukes...the opponents commented on it.
Oh!, and a nice cut-scene would have been nice too! ;)

I agree with Kyle. I just built my first TStar (though I saved my gold first). Looks cool but movement of 1? That's way too slow. It does have a defense of 33 but with attack of zero, it can't attack any ships. Since they come so late in the game, an Overlord, with speed of 13, should be able to easily overtake and destroy a Terror Star. It's attack should be 99 and more defense upgrades are needed.

Honestly, I think the Terror Star shouldn't have a significant attack score. Using the Death Star as an example, as has already been done in this thread, it could only attack capitol ships. Actual fighters were too fast for it to aim at. That's why it was accompanied by a fleet of Star Destroyers and their ship's compliments.

You are right, Art. The Death start couldn't use its primary weapon on the fighters, too fast. It did have turrent towers and fighters of its own, so attack of 0 is kinda low.

Guys:

Terror stars DESTROY STAR SYSTEMS.

Yea, they are going to be not too hard to kill.

You want to know why they're going to be vulnerable to attack?

Wait for it...

BECAUSE THEY DESTROY ENTIRE STAR SYSTEMS.

But why not make them able to attack ships?

BECAUSE THEY DESTROY ENTIRE STAR SYSTEMS.

But a high powered ship could wipe them out. Why not have better defenses?

BECAUSE THEY DESTROY ENTIRE STAR SYSTEMS.

But they move so slow, why not make them move at a decent rate?

BECAUSE THEY DESTROY ENTIRE STAR SYSTEMS.

To use the Death Star analogy. Who was making the Death Stars? The guys who had space superiority? Yep. The Empire.

Escort your terror stars, make sure you have sector space superiority.

The turret towers were defensive armaments, which are already accounted for by building defensive improvements before you finish the Terror Star construction, and I already accounted for the fighter fleet (not to mention the fact that GalCiv already does that too [Attack Drones, et. al.]).
