Custom Racial Penalties/New Abilities?
Slow Population Growth, Inept Traders, Innate Pollution, Aquatic?

I think an interesting idea to put forth would be the introduction of Penalties to a race in order to garner extra points, as well as new abilities. Penalties in all the abilities possible to gain an advantage in, in at least one or two categories, like slowed growth, nonviolence (Inept Military.) Bad traders, Heavy Pollution (Degrading the quality of homeworlds and settled worlds with polution.) Abilties to be able to build on water tiles instantly, or subsist on less food (Mechanical), or perhaps 'Bluntly Honest' which prevents espionage whatsoever and gives a huge chunk of points. I think it'd be an interesting thing to do, the more military races could gain penalties to their diplomacy skill and gain other abilities, and perhaps some technology trees can be slowed in order to get more points and buy more starting technology aside from those? Just some food for though, but some interesting Ideas, I, for one, would like to be able to have inept scientists, or traders, etc, for extra points elsewhere. Or have a cold frigid race that reproduces slowly. Just thought such suggestions would be helpful. Anyone who can add to this is welcome.
