Those who learn religion to show down

Dear members I have had an inspiration.I am removing the posts:Muhammed the greates chap 1, 2 3 and World Religion>Inter alia I am reminded of Prophet;s statement which says that Allahs woe are on those people who educate themselves in religion to impress others or win debates.I realise that these artciles were unwarranted and un provoked.May be I was bit carried away by the cartoon affair.In such attempts at comparison or attack there seems to be hidden viciousness and mischief which derails one from the straight path.Getting into idle debates in matters of religion and sprituality is work of satan to entangle one in inaction and mischief. I ask Allah for forgiveness!!AMEEN

No, you misunderstand. I have no problem with religious discussion. None at all, and I respect your beliefs though I differ with them.

My problem was that you weren't posting your own thoughts. You were simply copying what other people think and pasting it in. Were we all to do that, the site would be immense in no time, since one can copy a hundred articles in the time it takes to write one.

That doesn't give us insight into your own beliefs, or provide anything new. You do yourself a disservice when you fall back on other people's words to express yourself. When I answer an article, I like to be addressing the person whose thoughts I am addressing, else the person who posted it can simply defer to the author.

I understand that the Koran says not to debate with people who disbelieve. I respect, yet differ with that belief as well. I hope you don't take from this situation that we don't want you to express yourself here. You are more than welcome. I would just like to hear what YOU think about things.

i, too, am very interested in your opinions as expressed in your own words.   based on this post, it's clear you are very capable of communicating your thoughts.  i started reading several of your previous articles but stopped when i realized you were presenting material already published somewhere else by its author.

it will be a good thing for you and for us--even if it should turn out no one here agrees with you--because you will have had a chance to put forth your opinion and we will have the benefit of another point of view we might have otherwise been unaware.
