Sorry, let me hijack this thread Dear Sir, where is the description of making your own bootskin? I tried replacing the bmps and editing the ini, but i think i need the file format required for the bmps (indexed 640x480 i presume) but editing existing skin bmps in photoshop CS and spitting bmps back out don't work! black screen but i do get a progress bar, that also looks corrupt. there must be some trick there...thanks!!!

The background must be 640x480 16 colours (4 bit) and the progress bar must be 22x9 and from the same colour palette as the background. Anything else will corrupt the colours when booting. The easiest way of doing that is to 'copy and paste as new image' a 22x9 piece of the bakground.

Thanks super, that's super. i got that far but I am using photoshopCS2 for all my art and can't figure out how to get a low level bmp spit out. any tips? i tried in fireworks too, but the choice seems to be 256 colors out, or in PS terms 8 bit. thanks!!!
