Initial thoughts on Beta 4 - bugs and gameplay observations

Some things are better and some are worse. Here goes:

Bugs:
1. I took out the Venge homeworld but didn't get the usual "thank you" popup. They don't have any more planets left but the game thinks that they still exist. I keep getting popups stating that "The Venge have done X to planet Y". The Venge graphic still shows on the minor races screen but if I select it I get a crash to the desktop.

2. When a group of ships has been formed into a fleet the game will, on occasion, seemingly keep processing the turn indefinitely unless and until I hit the "disband fleet" button. Once I hit that button the turn processing proceeds as normal. The game seems to be thinking that some of the ships in the fleet have to do something.

3. I got a popup stating that things were looking good for my political party and three turns later lost the elections. There were no substantive changes in my society in the interim.

4. How can I be the leader in Galactic Trade when there is no trade yet in the Galaxy (Trade summary popup)?

5. Once "The Venge" event happens and they start killing planets the planetary congress shouldn't be saying "Oh no don't kill them" and prevent one from declaring war on the Venge.

Gameplay:
1. The mad rush of the AI races to build colony ships _really_ changes the complexion of things at the start of the game.

2. The change to the distribution of the star systems has also changed the tone of the game. I find myself restarting the game far more often now as the Terran start position often has no habitable planets within range at the start.

3. The technology tree seems to have been tweaked again and the costs have risen. The costs in Beta 3Z1 were a bit low but the new ones seem a bit high.

Bugs:
6. I got the "research rate tripled" event but it didn't seem to do anything to increase my research rate.
