First of all you need to set a waypoint on the galactic map there is an icon near the top of teh screen somewhere I think..

You can set as many as you wish.

Then on each planet screen when you can select which way point you want yourships to go to. You will get a list of those that you have set on the galactic map.

I don't use them much I find them a bit fiddly

I believe you are referring to rally points rather than waypoints. It is currently not possible to command a ship to move via several waypoints set along the chosen route.

Rally points however can be set by hitting 'P' and then left clicking on the galactic map. A pop-up would appear allowing you to name the rally point and to select a rally point command (eg. fleet the ships that arrive, auto-attack when ships arrive).

Once the rally point is set, you can either

a) Go to each planet screen and link the planet to an individual rally point. This would cause all new ships produced from the planet subsequently to move to the designated rally point.

b) Click on a ship on the galactic map and hit 'X'. The rally point popup would emerge and you would be able to direct the ship to autopilot to the selected rally point.

Does anyone use these by the way? I find them cumbersome since they can't be moved.

LDC: I find them *very* cumbersome, like a decent idea that either didn't work out or wasn't implemented very well (like a number of features in MY software; I'm not bashing CariElf!) Being able to move them would help, or at least something akin to Military Swap where you say "Switch all Rally Point 7 to Rally Point 12" or some such.

The thing that aggravates me most is if I use a rally point to gather constructors for a starbase. As more constructors approach the base I want to check to see what modules I've built, and invariably I get the Rally Point screen instead of selecting the SB. I'm getting better at knowing where to click to miss the rally point, but it's fiddly and annoying. -- HtL
