General Help and impressions

Hi all
Nice game so far. I was around at beta 1 or so hehe.
Couple things so far;

1. How does the alien race decide what planets to go after and were. It seems that they have omnipotent map knowledge at the start of the game. Also, they seem to favor coming after the good systems near me, when they have good or better systems near them. Seems way off. Souldn't we all start off blind?

2. Not sure how to make a fleet. You could update the manual if you could :).

3. Combat : Sometime my ship do engage into combat when moved into an enemy.

4. My people seem to be getting very pissed off very fast now after last update.

5. Trade seem to only happen with the aliens if they get the WAY better end of the stick. What help me get the better end?

Many thanks
Loving it so far
Kevin

1) The AI does know where all the star systems are at the beginning of the game, which is explained in the story. I believe that the AI looks for the closest planet above a certain class, but does not look at the system as a whole.

2) Group your ships on one square and a button will appear in the stacked ship window in the frame on the right. You can also hit the F key.

3) I think that you might have left a few words out of that sentence, because I'm missing your point.

5) That depends on what you're trading. The AI values their transport and colony ships more so that they won't trade them lightly and cripple themselves. Influence is very useful in trading.

He means morale is very low in the early game, something I've noticed myself, but usually not had much problem correcting.

I assume he means the occasional bug where ships can share the same space without attacking. It happens fairly rarely at the moment, but sometimes the game fails to check what the ship has moved onto. This can lead to no attack or no starbase upgrade window. It also affects pirates and space monsters occasionally (getting stuck on freighters or other ships)
