Ability bonus question

when starting a new civilization, there are 10 bonus points for 10 attributes.
1) do all work? (speed doesnt seem to)
2) does more than 1 point make any difference?
3) during the game, do the points show up in my stats?

Each point adds 10% to the base ability. So for example, a colony ship has a base speed of 2. It would take 5 points to increase the speed to 3 (5 x .2 = +1). The added percentages should show up in the stats. Hope this helps.

You are right! I also noticed that the freeform gas anomolies show up on the stat screen too! Thx.
