Wolfpack, the developers behind the soon-to-be free MMORPG have received the pink slip from publisher Ubisoft. The closure of the Austin-based studio likely comes as part of Ubisoft's reorganization plan to focus more on the console market.
Ubisoft acquired the studio almost two years ago and has yet to make an official announcement on the matter. The news of the closure was released via the Shadowbane Community Manager's blog and over the community's forums. Wolfpack was staffed by about 25 people.
Makes you wonder if the move to a free subscription is due to Ubisoft dropping support for the title or worse yet, shutting to down in the near future.
