upgrading ships

Is there a way to upgrade all ships of a particular type in one shot? Currently, I am having to do it ship by ship.

In the game there is a check box on the upgrade screen right below the picture on the top left - check it and it will tell you how much that will cost.

Careful though, this will upgrade ships that are far away - and they may take a long time to upgrade. Make sure you don't need them for awhile - and while upgrading I beleive they only have 1 hitpoint and are defenseless against any aggressive AI who strolls buy and decides to cherry pick....

Also when upgrading a ship type: If you dont change the name of the ship being upgraded, the game will automatically upgrade all of the ships. But I echo the cautions of Statesmen...
