Like riding a bike, its hard to remember not knowing how.
1) How can I see what cultural effect my starbases and planetary buildings are having on another race's planet located in the same sector?
I want that planet! I could invade their puny little selves, but they've spent the whole game building up their fleet. I've got multiple starbases decked out with all the cultural advances I know of. Now what?
Where can I see if they're wavering on defecting to my empire?
2) Do I always have to invade a planet with troops to take it over? Is there any way to simply bomb a colony to dust? I can see the play-balancing issues of requiring you to send troops in order to take over a planet. What's the skinny here?
3) Endless numbers of space sharks! Ok, I'm new, I'm slow, I don't know what I should be doing. I get reports some minor race is letting the 'winkie dogs of war into our universe even though I captured their home planet. Are the space sharks an artificial way of telling me to get a move on and capture the galaxy?
4) How fast do ships regain hit points when docked? It seems like sometimes they repair faster than others. Is this a factor of the planet, how big it is, the population size, the space ship-related improvements (shipyard, etc.)?
