Music problem with 4A & 4B

I never had this problem, but since Beta 4 I have that sound and music seem to interphere one with the other. Each time music has to be stopped for playing some sound, everything slow down and I have to wait some seconds. Tried to disable sound but even if that's not played it interphere someway.

Sorry if has already been reported...

Gherardo, what are your system specs? Also, have you tried running dxdiag to make sure that you don't have any errors?

Ok Cari, I have a win2000-sp3 on an IBM Thinkpad T20 (PIII-800-256MB).
I reloaded the same game and all is perfect now.
Don't really know...

What is dxdiag?

BTW, attached is a debug.err from the 6th of jan. Don't remember what I was doing. It's really one of the very few bugs I got. Could be from 4A.

Of course the debug is UNRELATED to the sound problem. Just easier to append here.

Hmmm...doesn't look like anything really bad. I don't think that there's anything dependant on DirectX 8.1, but it wouldn't hurt to install it.

The ThinkPad is a laptop? We do have more stuff in threads, and the music uses threads, so maybe your system is having a harder time handling the threads. I know that my laptop, which is an 800 MHz, doesn't do as well as an equivalent PC also running XP.

My T20 worked perfectly till now.
The only difference I have is that I installed a new GPRS wireless modem card.
I'll try to track down if they are related.
