It's Not Alzheimer's

(My defense)

http://www.lulu.com/content/223020
My wife has hundreds
of pictures of the kids
in box after box after box
some indistinguishable from others

and my brother has a stack
of over 500 DVDs that he ripped
and burned after renting them
from NetFlix
that he'll someday get around
to watching

and I found this shareware
that'll give me
20,000 fonts
for every occasion
in case I ever need 20,000 fonts

and my son wants an IPod
(the one with a little TV screen on it)
that'll hold 40 gigabytes of music
but he only owns
17 cds

and my DVR will hold
100 hours of programming
so I'll never miss another
episode of "The Simpsons"
even the ones I've seen
20 times

and I pay $60 a month
for a storage unit
to house the 2,000 record albums
that I bought
while my friends were out
smoking dope and getting laid

and my collection of cds
sits in plastic tubs in the garage
because we don't have enough space
in our 2,300 square foot home

and I've got books
and books and books
and over there books
and in the kitchen drawer books
and under the car seat books
and look good on the coffee table books

a million ideas to consume
and only one brain

I don't have a short attention span
I have a million short attention spans
each one demanding honor and respect

I could barely stay focused
to the end of this poem

did you?

It's not letting me edit, so I figure I'll finish the rest of my last statement:

Yes.
