It's sure painful. Thankfully you can ride it out even if it does wipe out 50% of tax revenues.

Yes .. lowered taxes and went to war ... fortunately ended before my unmothballed fleet did.

this has actually saved my bacon a couple of times.. had a piss poor economy compared to the other races before it happened.. got it made some adjustments and when the recession died off i sky rocketed past them

i got nailed by it also, defiantely put a damper on making military fleets, I had a lot of cash on hand and it really helped get thru the storm. Later in the game i got the random economic prosperity event and it really took off (for a couple of years)

Yes, I got hit with it, but I was lucky, as it ended before my bank dried up and with the up-turn in the econmy, I was off and running... I died in the end, but hey, you only live once...per life that is...

I forget the order, but I got both the recession and the opposite in one game, nearly one right after the other. Look out when that economic boom ends--you better react quick to adjust spending and taxes or face some suddenly huge deficits.

I've had the event many times by now (playing small or tiny galaxies allows for lots of games). it's a good event. Pity the warning arrives AFTER the event starts. Can mess up your finances.

Its pretty nasty when you lose over 6000 in revenue thats for sure.
