Take-Two Confirms Studio Closing

Take-Two Interactive has announced to closure of Indie Built, which was acquired in 2004 and was the development house behind the Xbox entry of the Links franchise, Links 2004. Take-Two had high ambitions upon acquiring the firm and had them focus "on sports titles for the next generation of gaming consoles and the PC platform."
Jim Ankner, Director of Corporate Communications at Take-Two, has assured Gamasutra that those affected by the closure would be looked after, stating: "Employees are being offered packages including continuation of salary and benefits, as well as other opportunities within Take-Two as appropriate."
Salt Lake City-based Indie Built, formerly known as Access Software has shipped over 37 titles on seven different platforms. Besides dealing with the Links franchise the studio also developed entries in the Amped and Top Spin franchises as well as early CDROM titles such as Under A Killing Moon.
