My ships on autopilot avoid events.

When one of my ships on autopilot approaches an animated event icon it changes course to avoid
running into it. Is this what is intended?

Yes. Unless you make the anomolies your destination, it will avoid them. Eventually, some of the anomolies will be bad and you might not want to go into them. So we're requiring the gamer to make an active choice.
