Genius AI too willing to trade planets + possible solution

The one thing that bothers me the most at the moment (besides not being able to submit my scores to the metaverse for braging rights ;) ) is the AIs willingness to trade it planets for tradegoods.

It looks like the AI is considering the value of its planets based on the current output of the planet and since this tends to be fairly low on fairly new planets I am often able to trade 1 tradegood for 1 planet.

This makes even genius level games much to easy IMHO. I think the AI should consider the long term benefits of a planet when thinking about trading it.

In the end the AI should be much more unwilling to trade away its planets.

In my current game (5xgenius, 15x15) I have colonized about 10 planets while I have traded for the other 10. The other races (except the minors) have just about 10 planets left between the 5 of them :(

The sums the AIs are willing to pay for tradegoods seem to be too high at the beginning of the game, too. Maybe it would help if the AIs would value the tradegoods based on the number of their planets/population which would benefit from them. At the beginning the value would be fairly low, while it would be at its top when the race peaks.

What do you think about it ?

it depends on when you make contact, later in a larger galaxy would mean the planets are more profitable and less likely to be traded.

Nope, one step below gigantic (16x16) was my largest game (just finished it and no real difference to the 15x15), but the difference will most likely be not that large I am afraid.

AI definitely values trade goods a little too much. Considering that only the player builds them, it's unfair to AI

but sometimes it's the only thing that has save the human player. The Torian went to war with me twice in this current game (didn't build military up fast enough)and trading one trade good for peace plus some of his techs has saved the day (this time :D )
