Blizzard has decided to take their prize Warcraft franchise a step past its award winning MMORPG by adding a movie deal to the property. Legendary Pictures acquired the rights to the film and will produce the film and in accordance with the deal, Blizzard will remain on board to develop the movie.
The Warcraft franchise has been a fan favorite since its introduction in 1994 with Warcraft: Orcs and Humans. World of Warcraft, the franchise's most recent outing, and a change from the normal RTS format to an MMORPG, has a reported 6 million players worldwide.
