Metaverse posting in error?

I posted a small game win to metaverse. In the game I was listed as Saintly, i.e. all good. In Metaverse, it list the game as chaotic-good. I had a score of 11400, but Metaversie lists it as 0. The games was of level "difficult", but Metaverse lists it as "anomoly." Can someone tell me what happened?

I should add the my previous game was identical in settings and it posted correctly.

score you just posted was void. you have tripped one of the ingame 'flags' and therefore youre score was nomalous (void). this can be caused by many things. the most frequent is over exploitation of minor races too early in the game. if you want to be sure then i would suggest you contact CariElf for details. nothing you can do about that game though unfortunatley :notsure:

If you used any Planet Quality mods and your PQ ability got greater than 40, that would trip the flag.

Thanks, I am using MOds and the planet quality is higer than 40 for both AI players as well as mine. This has been true of all the games I have recently played and they still posted correctly to Metaverse.

Planet Quality or the Planet Quality ability - I've had many games with planets into the 50s without problem - but if the ability goes high the flag gets tripped.

It seems to me that since all players, AI and human, benefit if they so choose, restrictions on PQ ought not to be limited. What was the reasoning behind limiting the PQ to around 40? The AI players seem to start with higher quality planets in the first place, at least in the games I have checked them.

Lord Megatron, are you certain of this? And how would you define over-exploitation? (I'm a bit worried for my present game, the first one in months, I would rather having it reported as normal)

it has been reported in the past that taking too much money from a minor race too early on can cause an anomalous score. it is not known how much that is but i never touch the minors or ai's for at least two years to be safe.
if you want to check your game for anomalous scoring the easy way is as follows...

set autosave to every 10 turns. every now and then save your game and click the retire button on options screen. this will show if you have score or have tripped anomalous flag. if tripped you can use autosave to return to point before 'flag'. this has always worked for me in the past, so i hope it helps you now. this may of course not work at all.

As I understand it, it's not exploitation of minor races per se. Cari has said on the forum that exceeding a certain amount of money in your treasury before a certain date is a common cause of anomalous scores. What exactly that money quantity and date are have not been announced.

The number of people with false positive anomalous scores due to lots of money should decrease. I'm not sure if that fix went into 1.13, but it will definitely be in the Altarian Prophecy and subsequent updates to Gal Civ.

I was under the impression that anomalous scores were showing as 0 now. Does this mean that some people are seeing a positive score on the submission screen that are actually anomalous scores?

No, I was trying to be clever by using the term "false positives".  I meant the people getting zero scores for getting all that cash legitimately.

PQ itself isn't limited. The PQ ability (in your stats) is - at least as far as the metaverse is concerned.

I just posted another game that recorded a zeor score on Metaverse. My score in the summary charts at the end of the game was 10880 or something like that. My previous game had posted with a zero score, but I just noticed that now it has a score and it is not longer listed as anonomous, as the current game is. Is this a self-correcting feature of Metaverse? Does anyone know what is going on? Can I come back in a week or so and find my current post corrected also?

cheers,

If you send me the save games, I'll take a look at them and try and figure out what is going on.  Or you could try re-submitting them. Or both.

Ca;riElf, What is your email address that I should send this to? See my recent post on the changing of an anomolous game to a valid game after the posting of another anomolous game.
