Master Of Orion 3 has gone Gold... To be released very close to Galciv

All right! If the industry keeps this up, my kids won't get anything to eat.

Having never played any of the MOO games, is there a demo I can look at, Kal-el?

Ted,
sorry, no demo avialable for Moo3 - thats what the Developers has stated all through development.
But chances are, if you like Galciv, you will like Moo3 as well, them being in the same genre and all.
Moo3 only focuses a bit more on tactical combat between fleets, and is geared a lot towards war-mongering.
At least, that is my impression, also based on the two previous games.

But all in all, a good 4x strategy game, which for myself will come in handy, when I've played Galciv to death, to amuse myself with for a few hours, before taking up the gauntlet and crushing those dratted Drengins once more ;)

We're on target for our release date (Feb 25) so barring any marketing decisions both games would come out at the same time.

thats gotta suck market wise, though being so late in the day Strategy First probly won't decide till monday on this. (Unless I'm mistaken and Stardock has more control of when. But my understanding of Stragety FIrst's business model was they replicated, market and distruptue it, don't pay any money to the developer upfront, and the developers get a bigger peice of retail sales.)

I wonder what percentage of sales comes from preorders. For instance, I bought GalCiv in beta, and I preordered MOO 3. So, it makes no difference, in my case, if they're released on the same day [except for deciding which one to play first, which would probably be MOO 3, only because I've been playing GalCiv in the beta version for a couple of months].

I bought both games also and I have a strong hunch that MoO 3 will be out at least a couple of weeks before the 25th.

And Nascar Season 2003 is due out early Feb.

(And I wonder why my vision has been getting blurry lately) ;)
