Govs, revolts, organizations

complication

Would all a race be under one controlled organization? Would later multiracial organizations develop? Primitive races joining your faction? Be nice if there could be more. System councils and officials to govern (taxes, spending, building) over specified colonies/colony (named by user). Discontent ones revolting to go on their own, creating their own government. Depending on governemnt type, you have less/more control and appointment power. Your officials and system councils going at it. All bribe open to other powers. Business, crime, party, and discontent organizations controlling planets, ships, trade routes. Power governed, or not (so many ships, trade lanes, contribution, etc), or just not obeying. Supplying information?

Great Idea. I support it all the way.

However, kinda utopian for both GC2 and GC3. Maybe GC4?

Primitive Races WILL join my faction, that is, IF they know what's good for them. Planets revolting and declaring independence will be quickly razed, rebuilt, and repopulated. All that oppose my supreme wil shall be enslaved to labor in the tofu mines. Local delegation of authority will only be delegated to those soldiers deployed to the local. They WILL thank me when it's over.

Just kidding, I'd love planets to declare independence if morale is too low, and lesser races forming federations or confederacys. Don't think I'd like crime and buisness though (too distracting from the empire building part of the game).

A more complex politic system is, indeed, needed. I hate the idea that empires are monolisthic entities!

Come on, is America a whole block? is France? Canada? (Canadians will agree with me on THAT )

This is what I asked for when I voted for more politics... IT's the big area that GC2 is lacking in, and one of the things that knocks it down from an A+ in my book (game is still an A- to A though)

What I'de like to see in the "More Politics" category:

Where you can spend money either improving or degrading relationships between the races.
The financial equivalent of praising one empire to another, or talking crap about them behind their back.

these are called "political pressure".. hell that would work

i was thinking more in the area of more complex goverments where you could div out powers and create red tape and this would all effect the working of the game. if someone isn't appointed to do it, it isn't getting done....
