1.What is stardock, do i have to install it? is it freeware?

Stardock is the company that makes products such as "WindowBlinds", "IconPackager", "ObjectDock", "DesktopX" and many others. Their link is here https://www.stardock.com/

Many of the programs offered by Stardock have "trial" versions (30 or 60 day) and are considered "shareware" (free to try, but you must decide whether to purchase within the alloted time or the software will no longer work on your machine).

The programs must be installed to use.

2.How do you install the skins downloaded from this site?

I wrote a mini tutorial in downloading content for the core programs in "Object Desktop", which is a suite (package) of the more popular programs offered by Stardock. You can read it here http://corkyo.wincustomize.com/Articles.aspx?AID=82563

In short, once the appropriate program is installed, you can download using the procedure outlined in the mini tutorial and then simply double-click to install the skin or theme.

The program will either be invoked by the installation procedure, or you can manually start the program, and then select and apply the newly installed theme.

The program and the theme will not be deleted when the trial period runs out. The program will just stop working.

But take it from the legions of Stardock faithful that are out there: Purchasing WindowBlinds, IconPackager, any of their individual programs or the entire ObjectDesktop suite is one of the best purchases (and the best values) one can find.
