Hot Internet Video: Sleeping Comcast Tech - 6/25 - From AP: Comcast has fired an employee for sleeping on a customer's couch (right) during a house call after video of the incident became an internet sensation. The cable company also says it has apologized to the customer in Washington for the "unsatisfactory customer experience." The customer, Georgetown University law student Brian Finkelstein, said the technician needed to phone company headquarters for help but was put on hold for more than an hour and fell asleep. He posted video of the sleeping technician on YouTube.com. He added an Eels song with the lyrics, "I need some sleep." The 58-second video has been viewed more than 227,000 times since it was posted Tuesday.....

Ha! Ha! Ha! God I love the capabilities of the Internet. I can see now that its not just consumers that Comcast forces to wait on Tech calls. Great vid.

It is pretty funny that they kept their own tech on hold.

It also royally sucks (for that poor tech) that they fired the tech for sleeping on the job. Whose fault is it that they kept the poor guy on hold? Certainly not his. He was just stuck waiting for an answer, on the customers dime (or at least on the customers phone line), and was kept waiting just as long as a normal customer would have been kept.

Yeah it sucks for the Tech, but that's how major corporations run things...straight up CYA. I feel for the tech, but maybe he should have, oh I don't know hung up or tried a little harder to stay awake. I can't even begin to imagine myself falling asleep in some strangers house, while I'm supposed to be doing what I'm getting paid to do.

It's still funny though.
