Espionage problem

I just spent a fairly long game as the Mercantile Party, trying to use Destablize Espionage. At a +%60 to espionage, and the slider all the way on for at least 1 opponent during the entire game, not once did I see any return on it. At ~50-60 credits a month, it seems like nothing more than a way to throw away money.

Is the result of Destablize Espionage 'under the hood' so we can't see it? Or is it just not working?

Destabilize works but it's primary use is to cause the other enemy economy to tank and lower morale on their planets.

If you want in-depth information on the enemy you should use the Espionage slider and not the destabilize slider.

Ahh so it's just a general lowering of quality of their whole network, as opposed to specific results. That makes sense. Perhaps some sort of notification would be nice, so it feels like it's doing something? "You have lowered the morale of Planet X by 5 this month", etc.

Also, using Espionage for spying hasn't really ever revealed anything useful. I perused the info that I got on a High success, and none of it was anything I could really use.

Just seems like Espionage overall is fairly forgettable. It would be nice if the results of it were more useful and/or apparent.

I think something has happened to the espionage feature. For the last two or three builds I have not stolen any techs. This used to happen once you reached the "advanced" level of espionage, but not for the last few builds.

If you have enough invested into espionage against the target you are destabilizing, you can see the difference that you are making.

Watch the morale of the target as you change the amount being spent on desabilization. Note that if they have a very large economy and you have a comparitively small economy that destabilization won't have much of an effect.
