Iocaine Studios announced earlier today that their first title will indeed be the former student project action-strategy game, ThreadSpace: Hyperbol. Originally started in 2003 at the University of California, Irvine, ThreadSpace: Hyperbol is set in the distant future and will pit players "in highly tactical multiplayer combat as they control massive gunships capable of firing a large variety of projectiles."
"We took a look at a lot of the games out there and decided to make something different, but still maintain an addictive fun factor." said Jason Fader, president and co-founder of Iocaine Studios. "The game has gone through some amazing changes since being an IGF finalist last year. ThreadSpace: Hyperbol pretty much feels like a polished sequel compared to the old version we presented there."
ThreadSpace: Hyperbol is scheduled to ship in August complete with its persistent world.
