5C quarks (apologies to AM)

Items:

1) War Party and Mercantile Party descriptions don't fit and can't be scrolled. Not a problem if you follow the Green Reaper's suggestions concerning these descriptions. Though I seem to remember mention of more parties being added - bigger parties, that would last all night.

2) One of the descriptions for the Drengin Empire on the AI selection screen at the beginning of the game says, "...the Drengin Empire are..." Since there is only one empire, this should read: "...the Drengin Empire is..."

3) "Telenanth" event says: "A scientist of the (null)..."

4) Fonts are a wee bit too small on some screens (E.g. espionage reports)

5) A situation occurs where an allied AI opens a diplomatic screen and asks something like, "what can we do to help you, since you've been so good to us?" Unfortunately, there is obvious response available for this other than to take something from the AI. Are we supposed to just take something? If so, maybe a message could tell us to ask for something. In this case, I'm not sure it would work, the supplicant AI could only afford to give influence or planets.

6) I couldn't ask the Torians to attack the Altarians. All the other AIs were listed as possible targets, but not the Altarians. The Torians weren't at war with the Altarians, but I knew they wanted to be due to earlier messages from the Arceans and Torians which suggested a concerted effort against the Altarians. Eventually, the Torians came to me to say they were joining me in my war with the "Almost As Evil" Empire. This happened in a previous game as well, but in that game my potential co-conspirators never got involved in the eventual war.

7) We get GNN reports telling us that X has built a Galactic Exhibition, etc, but we still aren't being notified when other wonders are completed. If you don't check your planet list every turn you can end up with an empty social queue until you notice that Planet A isn't producing (frex) Aphrodisiac anymore. Anguish and consternation!

End transmission.

The aphrodisiac is a trade good.

'The aphrodisiac is a trade good' and only 1 per galaxy. If Terrans dont complete it first, the planet that was building it has an null social projects and loses all the shields. Maybe 1/2 the shields could be converted to another social project.? The planet that was building it should appear in the next round's planet view.

They may not actually have found the Altarians. If that's the case, they can't go to war with them, even if other AI or the player has gotten them involved in something else with them.

One workaround would be to give the Altarians a useless ship like a scout while it's in Torian territory.

"They may not actually have found the Altarians. If that's the case..."

It wasn't the case here. The Altarians and Torians were neighbours and both the Torians and Arceans had already come to me to suggest that the Altarians were a danger to a peaceful galaxy, etc.

However, I have run into the snag you're suggesting and hadn't thought about giving away a ship to introduce the two AIs. Thanks for the tip!

Here's a list of some problems I've found. I didn't want to start a new thread, so I'm just sticking it in this one. Not sure how many of these have already been mentioned, but here's the bugs I've noticed:

1) Occasionally, I'll hear the music for new tech discovered screen, but that screen won't pop up. It cuts off after a couple seconds, but the main music doesn't come back on.

2) There are still occasional problems with windows popping up on top of other windows. Specifically, the turn-summary window popping up over the research window after a new tech is discovered.

3) The opening screen and the movies are silky smooth now, but I'm still having problems with the sound on the diplomacy screen. The music plays fine, but there's a very choppy sound that flickers on and off, and the diplomacy animation slows down noticeably whenever it's on.

4) Already mentioned, but the text is too small on many screens.

5) In my current game, I've gotten three messages that races have built the galactic stock exchange, and that no more may be built in the entire galaxy. I built mine before anyone else finished theirs.

While we are reporting quirks, here a few more:

1 - The I-League and Kwilasians seem to be mixed up in the Foreign Relations screen.

2 - Sometime after I launch a ship form the project screen it can't move (as if it already moved that turn).

3 - One of the minor races (I am sorry, I can't remember which one), had a String Not Found where the greeting message should be when I contacted them from the Diplomacy screen.
