Yesterday's update did not work because our version control software automatically sets all the files to read-only after they have been checked in or updated. So, you need to change all of your gal civ files' attributes to not read-only. We'll be fixing the problem on our end, so this is a temporary fix for you. You can get the file here:

there's not a one thats read only. the archive bit is set on everything but thats it.

Same here. No file read only. Beside, the update (including the option menu) worked fine here ...
