The Internet has been abuzz this morning with rumors of a Final Fantasy XI 2 in the works for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Totalvideogames has received official word from Square-Enix that no such decision has been made, although they also didn't rule out such an option.
The Japanese publisher referred geeks to an announcement from May 2005 regarding an original MMORPG that they have been developing for next-gen consoles and Windows Vista.
That should put that to rest.
