How Do I Apply A Boot Screen?

Ok i went to software and downloaded the one bootskinprogram but the mercedes-benz one is not in the selections pile when i open program then i go [File] import from file and i saved the the folder which i downloaded containing the benz boot skin and i cant open it to select it why???

First, no need for a new thread.
How did the benz booskin download, as a .zip, or a .bootskin. If .booskin double click it to self install. If a zip that contains a folder with 2 images and a .ini in it, the .zip can be renamed to .booskin, or extract folder and move it to C:\Program Files\Stardock\WinCustomize\BootSkin\skins.

Whether or not it will work on your system could be another issue too. Certain BIOS don't seem to like it.

Just want to be clear . . this should be "bootskin"

Cavan i extracted and put in the stardocks wincustomize bootskin and i didnt rename and it dont work still??

i extracted and put in the stardocks wincustomize bootskin and i didnt rename and it dont work still


In bootskin folder or skins folder in bootskin folder, just the folder with the images and .ini not the .zip. When it is in skins folder Bootskin software must be closed then reopened to refresh the skins list. If it is a .bootskin file just double click it.

ok got one more problem when i start comp ma comp asks me windows xp home edition (bootscreen) or Windows xp home edition i always click on the (bootscreen) one how can i makeit so that dispears and i dont have to chosse no more anyone know??
