Diplomacy: personal opinion

This is just a personal opinion and it should not prevail over others, but here how it is:
In the new screenshots we got on the home page, there's one of them where it basically says "We are both evil, so we should go against the pacific guy". I just wondered how it would be said by some modern politic guy, and thought diplomacy could be less direct, like "The peaceful guy may cause some me problems with his orientations and may as well do same for you with his peacenik ideas." Whatta you think? Fits with the game style? Doesn't?
