Help creating a shortcut

I am creating a desktop for someone and they would like some shortcuts to programes that I don't have and I need some help on how to make them. I have the full path for the files but my problem is I don't know how to script it and then I have problems with spaces in the folder names. Can some one help please.

Create a new object.

On the first tab, change the object type from layer to Shortcut

In the File Shortcut field enter the path in quotes: "c:\Program files\test app\app.exe"

Click OK a few times and all should be well.
