Poor Boy George

I can't say that I have ever been a Boy George fan.  Just not my kind of thing.  There is one picture that journalists have longed to get hold of, and they were willing to stalk, and follow, and harrass to get it.  So I wonder what photo that would be?  Well let me share with you....

Yep that's it folks.  That is Boy George 'enjoying' his community service.  Now I have to say he does look like a rather sad figure, and at first glance, I would say I even felt sorry fo him.  However, he is serving a punishment, for doing bad things.  Let's look at the facts.  This is a man who has flirted with the media for many years, and for the most part it has worked in his favour.  Many celebrities seem to think that they can do this, they can flirt with the media, but as soon as things go bad for them they can switch it off.  It doesn't work like that my friends unfortunately.  You have to take the rough with the smooth.

In March, George had a charge of possessing cocaine dropped as part of a plea bargain under which he admitted wasting police time by falsely reporting a robbery at his flat.  He was told to go to rehab and sentenced to 5 days community service.  Three months later he still had failed to complete his community service, his lawyers were trying to get him something easier like doing a DJ show, or something, but Boy George didn't even bother to turn up to court.  So here he is paying his debt to society.

Maybe public shame might just teach him a lesson :)

Do you really want to hurt him? Do you really want to make him cry?

Yep, I don't really feel sorry for him either. Maybe he'll get it together yet.

Me neither. You know, I would have been disappointed if he'd got a DJ show or something like that. The preferential treatment given to 'stars' creates an elitist mentality I despise. That he didn't show up for his court appearance shows contempt for the system. He deserves to pick up other's rubbish after all the rubbish music he's given the world

This is very bad karma for BoyGirl. He should consider being a Karma Chameleon. Perhaps he could improve himself by joining a Culture Club.

Here's an zoomed in view of his face for those who can't see it well on the picture:

He sure is tumbling for them now.

I'm not sure that a media blitz over his community service will "humble" him much.  All it proves is that he is still news worthy.

It would have been better if some old pervert showed up with a low end digital camera, and no press ever showed.

Yep maybe.  I highly doubt it though.

Yes I agree, why are they any different?

Even though I like Culture Club's music, I don't feel sorry for him because he failed to show up for court and did commit a crime. I don't think as people said it worked to humble him at all because it proves he is newsworthy and he got the attention he likes.
Honestly, I think the judge instead should have made him work in a hospice helping people who have AIDS or HIV+, cleaning their bedpans or something. LIke a lot of celebrities, he thinks the world revolves around him. If he worked with AIDS patients, maybe he'd realize there are people who have a lot worse problems than he does and stop being so self centered.
