Hosting other video formats

I was noticing that you, like many podcasters that are doing video, are using codecs that I don't like or don't use. Then I was also thinking about how much computer/worker time is put into shows that do offer all these different codecs. Some of which, like DL.TV its literally their job.
I suddenly thought of Corey Doctorow (I think thats how you spell his name) a contributor to Boing Boing and successful Sci-Fi Author. He released copies of his books and when the fans wanted it in a different format, they would convert them and he would host them. (EG http://www.craphound.com/est/download.php ).
I was just thinking that you might want to do the same. It may take up more drive space on your end, but they would probably be downloaded the same number of times. Possibly more as those who are really snobby or very particular of what codecs they play.
I should also point out that while many people have IPods and the majority of people have windows and can play .wmv's, Those who don't have a much harder time playing .wmv's and probably want a higher quality and more generic codec than an IPod quality formatted video.
