Is there a way to search the forum? I cannot find it.

I was going to ask whether you could upgrade ships. Do you just junk scouts, etc. at some point? I was going to try to search the forum to see if it had already been answered, but could not find a way.

As yet this forum has no search capability. It has been asked for many times and each time we were told that it would be looked into after GC got released, along with a number of other requests, such as spell checking and allowing the author of a post to edit errors out of his/her post. I had been using a search engine provided by another tester but it has not been working since he went on vacation. Even so, it was a generalized engine that he tied directly to the galciv forum and its archives, so it was not real robust.

Upgrading ships is not something GC can do (yet?) but it sounds like a good post release suggestion. My guess is that the support code for it would probably be too much to put into the first release at this late a date.
