changing icons

Guys, i am an middle aged newbie (the worst kind of newbie i suspect)
I have downloaded some really great icons from this site, but have absolutly no idea how to actually use them.....Could one of you computer literate folk help ...

If they are from the IconPackager Gallery > WWW Link

From Misc Icons, then you can use them with Object Dock, Object Bar, DesktopX, or right click an icon you want to change, go into properties, change icon, browse to one you downloaded.
