Favorite Villian - Star Trek

OK! I am a Trekkie!

But today, with my wife gone, and the chores all done, I watched some of the Star Trek Uncut on G4.  And one of the episodes was about Harry Mudd!

And it is one of my favorites (the one with the Robot planet),  And I know he was only in 2 (correct me if I am wrong), but he is my favorite villan!  yea, he is a pirate (dont we love pirates tho?), but he was never really evil.  Just a bumbling con man that gets bested every time he shows up!

This one was with the Anne's and the Stellas (there was a norman in there I think ;-) ).  And in the end, Spock, Kirk, McCoy and Scotty manage to short circuit both the ambitions of the androids (robots?) and Mudd.  And leave Mudd on the planet with 500 stellas (frankly, I think that was cruel and inhuman too!).

But of all the villans, Q included, Mudd has always been my favorite. You cant help but like him!  And since he is so inept, you cant help but think of him as Sylvester, of Loony toones!

It would have been nice if they completed their 5 year mission, for him to at least get the Boid. ;-)

Let's see.....favorite villain.

I liked John Colicos' Klingon Commander Kor from "Errand of Mercy". The one where the Enterprise went to Organia to offer assistance, and Kirk and Spock get caught in the Klingon invasion force. turnbs out the Organians are a super-advanced race of energy beings so far ahead of either the Klingons or the Federation that they needed no help from anyone or anything. they're the ones who imposed the Organian Peace Treaty between the Klingon Empire and the Federation.

Gul Dukat was vile and cruel.

How about Squire Trelane of Gothos? The "original" Q.

Don't do this to me, Doc. I can't...I just can't.

As to the 5-year mission, a lot of us purists (including original Trek writers like DC Fontana, who wrote a few of the cartoon episodes, and even Gene Roddenberry himself) take into consideration the Saturday-morning Filmways cartoon of the early 70s. If you factor in those episodes with the TV show, if pretty much covers the five years of their mission.

"Hello, Stella....dear..."

Gul Ducat was my favorite. The one I hated the most was Kai Winn. She was evil. She didn't even have to speak and she was evil.

Does anyone else think that all the people running around with ear piece cell phones look like the Borg? I always look at them and think "I will NOT be assimilated". Don't people realize how dorky they look with those. And everyone thinks they're crazy because it looks like they're talking to themselves. Oh here I go. I'm always off on a tangent.

I have a night at home. I may go embrace my inner trekkie and rent a season of star trek.

Sorry!  I am lonely this weekend and watching G4!

Gul Dukat was vile and cruel.

Oh, he was the nastiest by far.  But I would never call him my favorite.

Q

Now that is a candidate!  But he lost it when he became human.  Pathetic!

I have to say Dr Guy you are going to hate me now - I dislike the old Star Trek ewww. It is so old fashioned!

I know, I know, no need to say it! I have put the cat among the pigeons now! Opened the door wide for all the Original Star trek fans to slaughter me!

I prefer Star Trek Voyager! Q in Voyager, for me is excellent, he is so full of selfish mischief! He meddles all the time!

I particulary like the episode where he dumps his son on Voyager to learn.

The actor who plays Q (sorry - no good with names) really suits the part - he has that sulky selfish bottom lip dragging on the ground, getting gravel rash - I'm sulking look.

ROFL!  I had not thought of that!  You are right!  I refuse to use Blue tooth!  But then my wife does!

Shhhh!  She might here you!

Warding sign!  Oogey!

No problem.  I did open it up to all series. But who was the best villan?  Inquiring minds want to know.  If Q, you can love him!  This is not the worst, but the one we love the most!  Take you time!

Do Dee do dah, do Deee do, do dee wah do, do, tee do teee do.

has to be the cold emotionless dead ugly borg - "we are the borg. Resistence is futile. you will be assimilated. Resistence is futile." - somehting to that effect shivering ... ugh

YES! I said that to my wife not too long ago!

I was at a wedding a couple weeks back, and this rednecky-looking guy in a ballcap, a Harley-Davidson T-shirt and jeans sat through the whole ceremony AND reception with his earpiece in. What the hell was SO DAMN important that he couldn't unplug for that few hours? Maybe he was worried the dirty sofa on his unpainted porch might catch fire, or the blocks under the junky car in his yard might collapse.

I think that THEY just think they look so cool that way. "Look how hi-tech savvy and with it I am." They're wrong.

That was just plain rude.  what if he had gotten a call during the ceremony?

From Star Trek, to current day villians!  You never know where the comments are going to take you on a blog.

Mudd from the original. We watched the episode yesterday too! My husband was calling me Stella the rest of the day - he's a tease.
The only other Mudd one I can think of was with the women on a mining colony - he was giving them a make you "hot-sexy" drug.

I think that are his only 2 episodes. I, Mudd and Mudd's Women.

BTW: You should have smacked your husband for that crack!

told him he was going to get a spanking. He looked at me with a big grin on his face and said OK

WOW!  And I thought I was off target.

Oh, you're just baiting me here!

Mudd is cool! But Q is probably my favorite. With respects to my avatar, of course...
