Stargate MMORPG Gets Unreal

Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment and Epic Games have entered into a license agreement in which CME will utilize the Unreal Engine 3 in their upcoming Stargate Worlds and future multi-platform games. The Stargate Worlds MMORPG is based on the popular the Stargate franchise, including Stargate SG-1 and its spin-off Stargate Atlantis and set to launch in late 2007.
"The combination of a robust graphics environment with extensible development tools allows us to deliver ground-breaking game content for Stargate Worlds commensurate with the quality of the #1 rated sci-fi franchise and future multi-platform games," said Joe Ybarra, vice president of product development for Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment. "Our development team is very excited about using the Unreal Engine 3."
Stargate SG-1 was confirmed to be canceled by the SciFi channel on August 22, 2006.
