Triple research event not working, and general comment on bonuses.

Simply put, after getting the "A new thinking machine has been invented, all research has tripled!" event, my research times have not improved one bit.

The main issues I notice as I've been playing are that my supposed bonuses gained don't seem to have any tangable effect, or the total points gained through a discovery or chosen as a bonus during the start have little to no effect, even when glaringly in my favor.

This is frustrating to say the least.

To add more about misrepresented bonuses/advantages I present this screenshot: http://www.crshop.biz/galciv4.jpg

If I hold 62% influence, why am I ranked 4th? All the other civs combined could only total 38%, right? Why are there 3 civs more influental than I?

well there seems to be a bug in that you get "x%" bonus that it doesnt change the time it says it will take,

but for me it usually makes things go faster such as:

it says it'll take 15months to complete but is completed in 5 months.

Sometimes it's really hard to tell whether the triple research event is actually doing anything. It may be impacting the actual time it takes to research a tech but it does not seem to change the "time to research" that is shown on the technology screen.

Often when I get this event my empire is already producing a fair amount of research which makes it even harder to tell.

The bonus points do work, but some of them don't get computed in when the game figures durations and displays stats in some cases, research being one of the more noticable ones. By the time I have two research techs picked up, the actual research time is about half of what the Tech screen shows.

I think the Weapons, HP, Defence, and Soldering bonuses are the only ones that don't have at least one display quirk somewhere.
