drengin.net needs a face lift
from
Stardock Forums
A few things I've noticed on that site that could use some improvement (especially since GalCiv's big release is fast approaching, and there will likely be a deluge of new potential customers showing up here):
(1) There's nothing right on the front page that really explains how drengin.net works - when I first discovered it about a week ago, I had to look through several different pages/sites (including reading several posts on this forum) before I started to understand what drengin.net was and what it really offered - and I would guess that most customers wouldn't take the time to engage in this type of fact-finding mission (this could probably be cured by a paragraph or two of text on the front page of drengin.net explaining simply and clearly what it offers and how it works). (On a somewhat related point: the drengin.net site should be more prominently featured on this site. The little scrolling message at the bottom of the screen isn't enough to really grab people's attention and point them in the right direction. I visited this site several times before even noticing it.)
(2) The FAQ is outdated, incomplete, and has a number of errors (such as: the "What are the advantages of becoming a subscriber?" question is completely blank, the answer to the "Okay, I get it but are these games really..." question seems to be cut off, etc)
(3) The site could really use an overall design make-over - it doesn't feel as slick or professional as the galciv.com or stardock.com sites do.
Anything that makes drengin.net more easily accessible for potential customers (both in terms of finding the site and in terms of understanding fully what is being offered) could go a long way towards generating sales.
