Just Asking...

Is there an intention to develop some form of segmentation (hierarchy or whatever) to future forum queries/notations/pros/cons/hints/tutorials/etc etc? The current schema is going to get blown out of water in short order. Just asking...

Well, at the moment I belive that the Devs are quite busy, Brad (Frogboy) has previously said that he wished the forum to be more organized, and asked around on the forum if anyone was interested in helping..

But what their future plans are, I cannot say..

Just an observation... based upon numerous other forums that I've linked to. Typically there is the standard "General Topic" followed by more specific "What do you want?", "Strategies", "Newbie Help" and so on. More often than not, most folks seem to ignore the categories and just post their questions within the General topic not realizing that they're making it harder to get their answer, in the end. And of course...without question...some form of "search" capability is almost demanded.

My thoughts are from the viewpoint that this forum may become very popular in the nearer term. A simple top-down structure could prohibit access to knowledge and comments in the pursuit of an expanded, and informed, user community.

Just an observation...

Heh... just goes to show you... Stardock spends their time on the software, not the forums... Makes sense to me.

The forum will be tweaked. In addition, SDC will support the forum as well.

Features we hope to have by Tuesday:

1) Always on top threads
2) Way to tell if the thread has been updated since your last discusion.

Actually easier to show than tell -- Look at the WinCustomize message board. (www.wincustomize.com).

Perhaps some forum moderators also... from what I've seen on the MOO3 fourm things can get downright stupid...I mean very stupid.

This forum has a nice touch, but well functionnally it's somewhat light... ;p (and why use only 1/2 of the screen width and this smallish font ??)

And indeed if activity goes beyond "confidential" it'll soon become a real mess ... Why not putting a ol'good UBB forum, everyone uses them so we all have the habit ! ;)
