Dear Devs - Issues for Version 4

Hi

Thanks for version 3.1. I've noticed so many little improvements already, and I've only played for a couple of hours. The best surprise so far, is that I can now click my ships to check their stats without waking them up!

I don't know if you're going to work on a Version 4 before DA comes out, but if you are, there are still one or two things that need looking at. Hopefully this thread can be used to let you know of those things.

The biggest one I've noticed is that planetary improvements are still showing the incorrect build time. Probably easy to miss considering how many other changes you've made, but could this be looked at next time?

Can I also make a request? I would like it if you could find a way to make ship designs not carry over to other games. I find cleaning the shipyard a bit of a hassle, and as a workaround I ususally just clear out the ship folder. The only drawback to this, is that you can only play one game at a time, or you screw everything up.

Apart from that, well done! This is one of my favourite games, and that's unusual this long after purchasing it.

PS Frogboy, its not easy being green, I know.

Seconded. The build times on the colony screen are wrong most of the time (too short), only the build times on the colony list are right. It would be nice if that bug disappeared at last (can't be that hard to do if the correct number is available, right?).

I have never had them being too short, they are quite often too long in my games though.

I've gotten almost accustom to the build times being wrong(been that way since I got GCII). I know if it initially says 100wk. It means like 17wk. .Mine are always consistently stated longer than actual build time.

Hmm, with colony screen I meant the screen when you're in a colony. The time given there is too short in most cases with 1.31.

Example: Building an Industrial Sector on a planet with 72 social production. In the colony it says 4 weeks, but the colony list says 6 - which proves to be right in the end (total cost is 400).

Also, just had one of the graphics for a colony ship change to a freighter after I ALT+TAB`d out.

I also experience the confused graphics syndrome. The Tranport ship graphics changed to freighter, and the constructor graphic changed to something else. Somewhat confused things in my midgame.

I've never had that happen, but I don't Alt-Tab. I probably would if I wanted to take screenshots.

Actually that's a good point. Would it be possible to add a hotkey for saving screenshots to disk? Pretty please with sugar on?

You can take screenshots using the "Print" button on the keyboard and pasting the result from the clipboard into a graphics application of your choice.

I know, but I was hoping for a method that didn't involve Alt-Tab.

At this point we're focused on finishing Dark Avatar. Barring something major, we likely won't be touching the GalCiv II codebase again until DA is done.

Ah ok. Fair enough. I'll keep my fingers crossed for next year though.
