CTD when using Ctrl+N

I thought I would try out the new feature to get a different map at the start of a game. If you do noting except look at the star distibution and zoom in there seems to be no problem. But if you click a star system or colonise a planet then ctrl+n it CTD. Now I know that it may be designed so you can only use it right at the start of the game and if you do do anything it wont change the map but I don't think it should CTD. Anyway here is the SE
