I think I've found the 5th X

Prior to purchasing MOO3 I inquired about the 5th X (player eXperience) that the game was suppose to include. I was hoping for a game of galactic history. One which was rich in story and involving the player on a grand scale. One that played out like all those space operas we see in movies or read in books. Sadly, MOO3 failed to deliver.

Based on what I've read regarding Galactic Civilizations, I think they have found the 5th X that QuickSilver lost. Per the GalCiv Encyclopedia Skeptics FAQ:

"What we hope to do is make a strategy game that has an almost role-playing feel to it. We want each game to feel like an epic story. That’s why we’re putting in so many plot events. You may play the game for many months and still run into new events that give the game a fresh texture. In GalCiv, we want you to truly feel like you’re building a civilization. You can make it a good one or an evil one. You can make it a war-like one or a peaceful one. One that manipulates others behind the scenes or wins by winning the hearts and minds of the other civilizations’ citizens."

March 26th can't come soon enough. Thanks to Stardock for giving us what appears to be a 'true' space epic. Hopefully this title will meet or exceed its expectations and keep this genre alive for future generations. (Unlike others that threaten its existance)

Thanks again Frogboy and crew :)

Hi Grizpin
Welcome to the game. This is a great game. I was lucky to be in the gamma version, (just before gold) and it is so much superior to the last beta. I'm sure when you start you are going to have lots of questions. Last August i peppered the board when i was a noobie. Don't hesitate to ask any questions. Somebody will answer you. I would say this is the best forum i've been involved with. See you areound the forum
