Skinning and MSN

Well, I'm a complete noob at skinning (just started today, in fact). I'm running Windows 2000, and trying to make it look better in a way that doesn't involve making my colour scheme really messed up. I'm currently using WB for my skins, as that seems to be the one with the most available skins. However, with every skin I apply, MSN stops flashing whenever I get an IM from someone I'm talking to. Is there a way to prevent/fix this? Thanks for any help

Can you be more specific?

- What version of MSN are you using?
- What version of WB are you using? Posting the WB stats can help.
- Is your MSN messenger patched? Or are there any plugins?

I'm using MSN version 7.0, fully patched as far as I know, without any plugins.

WB is version 4.6, as it was the highest one I could find that runs on Win2000.

Hmm... so just two normal installs for two programs.

I heard things about some MSN version (I think it was 7.5 actually) not working correctly on Windows 2000, but if it worked before windowblinds... I don't know what to tell ya.

When I meantioned "patched msn" I meant with such programs as "mess patch" or "a-patch". Some programs like that have the ability to disable the flashing toolbar button.

I don't know what the problem is, sorry .

Fresh reinstalls of both windowblinds and msn might work... its worth a shot if you want.

Fresh installs of both doesn't seem to have had an effect . This is probably just my computer being a pain in the ass.... its in need of a reformat, but I just can't be bothered to deal with that sort of thing (I'm lazy, and besides, I know where everything is on this computer atm, no sense changing that ). Thanks for trying to help though
