I'm being artsy.

Tonight after watching Ugly Betty which I totally missed the ending because my MIL brought my son home from football practice right at the end and I know that's totally besides the point of this post. Anyway, I thought I could sit around and just veg out on the couch but I do risk growing roots from my butt being planted on the couch way too much of the day. So I decided to get creative instead.

I was looking through Somerset Studios which is my absolute favorite inspiration and decided to make a paper fan. I printed the template and traced and cut it out. I stamped the background with different background stamps using Cool Carribean and then stamped images from the Days Gone By stamp set in Vintage Photo. It looked good but needed more. So I dug into my stash and added some rose stickers from the Gifted Line. Still not enough. I edged the photos with brown ink. Still not enough. I guess I am a believer in more is more. I stamped the flourishes from Autumn Leaves in brown around the edges of each panel. It's getting there but I decided to sand my stickers and sponge some So Saffron Ink over the whole thing. Wow, it's really pretty. I added an eyelet to the bottom and some pretty brown fiber, gingham and sheer dotted ribbons. I love how this came out.

Then I decide to work on project two. This didn't come out as well. I used Basic Grey paper but decided to trace my pattern on the back so the design would appear more random. It sure did. I accidentally traced it over the cut here strips - oops. I continued anyway and though I don't love it, it's okay. That was enough for one night. Of course, my dining room table is a huge disaster area.

Soon I will be sharing photos of my creations not just telling everyone about them.

I'm so old fashioned that I only have a film camera. I have been holding out buying a digital because I wanted my really expensive dream camera but I've decided that I will just get whatever I can afford now and hopefully upgrade later. Then everyone can see.
