Screenshot Utility?

Dark Avatar should definitely have one.

Taking screeshots in Galciv 2 is currently a massive pain the neck, so why not introduce a utility that makes the game take screens and dump them into a screeshots folder in the home directory? It would definitely make player AARs better.

There are already many free utilities available that do that, such as FRAPs. Just do a quick google, download, and you're set.

What pain? Play in windowed mode with the resolution set to match your monitor, print screen, paste into Microsoft Paintbrush, save as JPG, resume gameplay.

I created half a dozen screenies in a few minutes.

I don't like playing in Windowed mode, I don't know why, plus FRAPS is a lot easier, no pasting required. Just snap and it dumps it into the FRAPS directory.

Try Xfire... www.xfire.com; but most noticeably I bet the released Dark Avitar would be added.

We've allready got GC1,AP,GC2 on there. And when in-game/running xfire at the same time xfire automatically adds screenshots into say jpg files and puts them in a folder; then you take care of em/have an option to add them to your profile at the end of your game

Sorry to revive such an old thread, but IrfanView supports screen dumping too. Set a hotkey combo to Capture (Ctrl+F11 is default), choose a save directory and the image format. It doesn't do video, but it's freeware, doesn't watermark your images, and works perfectly.

Hoversnap. Small footprint in background, unobtrusive, hit printscreen and forget it till your ready to view your pic, which is put into folder you choose in the almost to simple to be true config interface. I've tried a lot of others including FRAPS and keep coming back to Hoversnap.

Since FRAPS isn't freeware, I thought I'd add X-Shot to the list as well. Free and supports different formats.
