AI Victory

How will the AI - computer players - attempt to achieve victory?

Will the computer players always choose to conquer the galaxy through the same military destruction, or will they attempt to dominate culturally, politically, etc.?

Also, will the computer players analyze the strategy that you (the player) are using (i.e., military conquest) and try to conquer others in the same way (copying the player's strategy) or in a totally opposite manner (than that used by the player)?

Will the AI's strategy all be randomly decided in the beginning of the game or develop as the game progresses?

Thanks for any answers. Hope the parenthesis and weird wording didn't confuse you :notsure:

I can help you only a bit before more apropriate persons will come (Frogboy anywhere? ;) ), however, from my observations:
1/ Yes, AI can take different approaches - few times I was involved in influence battle with another race (actually, I have even lost it few times). Research victory - I dunno, I tend to destabilize them or wage war on them if their research get too high - but logically AI should be able to get it ;)
2/ I think they are able to switch pursued strategy, however, it is too dificult for me to find out when and how it happens.
3/ To my best knowledge the AI takes account of your victory path and tries to counteract it. I remember Drenging buliding crazy numbers of starbases in one sector to hold off my Cultural dominance... They war so "culturally stubborn" with their 5 planets (I had over 40) I even considered going into war (and I am peaceful ;). Anyway, few galactic wonders gave me the cutting edge...

Anyway, anyone feeling to give more info feel free. As we are finishing critical project here I have far too little time to Galciv now :(
