So I went for my Physical

Yep, I got my appointment and went for my physical this morning. I tell you, I almost didnt' go. I was scared shitless! Usually I don't have this fear, but as I said, knowing that I'm now forty something and my parents having died early, both in their 60s I just didn't want to hear anything I wasn't suppose to hear. Especially since I have not kept up with my exercise program! Yeah, I know wimpish of me but hey, there are just some things I don't want to know!

So everything is alright for now. I don't have hypertension, blood pressure normal, I got the finger exam for blood in stool - yuck! None there (now I'm going to have to put adult content just for that sentence!) EKG normal, no unknown growth or anything abnormal on my person! Yeah! So I've received the paperwork to go have bloodwork done so that they can check my cholesterol, check for diabetes, because of my family's history (on my dad's side) and something else, I forgot what. Anyway, that' s the normal checking to make sure everything else is alright.

Except for being a little overweight, which I promise to work on, or at least to get back on schedule on that bandwagon, I'm a-ok! Yeah! She didn't ball me out this time. She totally understands what it's like with having kids, working etc. Stress and family stuff get in the way of living and that can't be helped. She told me that she had the same issues too, trying to find time for herself. So we both promised each other to work on that. Isn't she sweet. She's a lovely doctor and I'm so glad she's my doctor!

Anyhoo, I'll fill you in on the bloodworks when I get it done and after the results come back. In the meantime I've got to get gung ho again!

The problem with us oldies (well, not so much you--I'm nearing 60), is that they not only poke fingers into every orifice but they also put you
on this treadmill thing to measure your cardio (ecg). Now we come up against bridges I cannot cross-- the old ticker is quite well but the ankles are not so good.
I have a problem down below, not up above. I should be thankful that I'm 95 % upstairs but I can't keep up with a treadmill. In fact, I can't even walk on a treadmill!

God works in wondrous ways, He left me with good lungs (I smoke), and a fairly combative liver (I drink socially), but He, in His wisdom, decided that my ankles should bear the brunt of my sins. I can't work it it out . Can you?

Checks ups can really be scary when you’re not feeling well. You can become a hypochondriac quickly. I went for a check up a few months back after feeling bad with a cough that lasted 5 weeks.

I had smoked for 10 years when I was younger so I was really freaked out about getting a chest x-ray. All clear though turned out to be an allergy, but I believe if you see a doctor enough they’ll eventually find something they can bill you for.

LOL! That one got me going!LOL!

My hubby has knee problems. He's still pretty active though despite that, but he can only do so much when he hangs with his friends.

You're both lucky then! My hubby smokes too. Not a quitter yet unfortunately!

This is so true. You freak yourself out unecessarily!

I've not been unlucky where that is concerned thank heavens. So far so good in finding great doctors!
