Of the new colonizable planet types

Here are some things i've noticed or think need to be tweaked about the new planet colonization system.

I think the new planet colonization techs are too easy to get too. As it is now, it just extends the colony race, you just have to run straight to those techs. And you can get them one after another, and colonize any planet you want. Or like in the game's i've played, trade techs for them after only a few turns. Maybe they should be spaced out? or integrated into the tech tree, some further down the line?

Also, on the GUI side, the terrain maps on the new planet types, they're very bright and primary, and kind of hard to focus on, at least for me. On the green one, i can barely see what tiles are outlined in green. What about making some "oceans" on the special worlds? Like methene oceans that could be greenish, or putrid toxic orange oceans, just to vary the terrain a little bit more?

it would be kinda interresting
make the ammount of planets WITH the need of a certain gravity less
but make the techs to get ot them be in the middle of the techtree.

however i also like this.

I'm not sure what changes the devs have in mind for the tech tree revamp/streamlining, but bear in mind it will not be done until a later beta build so the tech tree as it is now is far from final.

IMHO i hope they make things different..

to combine both planetary improvements and this new colony deal...
i think that you should be able to setup domes for people to live in on harsh planets and have only a limited amount of growth area (this is for those that like to rush colony, but requires some tech research) and then as you go along those planets can be made better/more habitable and not need domes and such.

this would open up more spots or reduce the cost of making things (since you would not need domes)

Yeah I'd like to see these spread out a bit more as well. I'm sure their current position in the tech tree was just a *get these in here* type thing.

I agree the current graphics for the special planets are harsh to look at. Again maybe they'll get them toned down a notch or two.
