Style Not Applied To Taskbar And Windows

I downloaded DesktopX and some themes but when I apply the thremes it only changes the desktop itself and not the task bar or window style which remains the XP standard. The pictures of the themes show a custom start menu and window style and I was wondering how I get these?

Searching the forum for things like “taskbar” and “window style” isn’t giving me any answers and I don’t know what to search for so any help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Ok. DesktopX doesn't skin the Windows taskbar or any application windows. WindowBlinds does that. If you look at my current screen shot over in the screen shots area you will see Moonlight w/ Vista Bar. That's an example of using WindowBlinds with the Raven skin (by Essorant) combined with the Moonlight DesktopX theme by gef. I also did a couple of things with IconPackager and ObjectBar to produce that shot. You will find other cool shots in my Library and other skinner's libraries. All the tools you need are in Object Desktop 2007. They are also available in trial versions to give you a chance to try them before you buy. So, the primary four tools are WindowBlinds, DesktopX, IconPackager and ObjectBar - all included in Object Desktop(which has a number of other programs as well).

Thanks a lot for the help. I'd misunderstood the purpose of DesktopX.

I was mainly just looking to change the appearance of Windows since I don't like the default blue or silver so I'll give some of the other software a try. Thanks for the link.
